Support extraordinary stylish mechanical shoes that help to rebuild Fukushima, Japan. Two awesome Japanese, Masaya Kushino, a shoe designer who famous for his impressive animal influences designs and Sputniko!, an artist-designer who creates machines, music and films teamed-up to develop the “Nanohana Heels” (currently work-in-progress) that automatically plant rapeseeds into soil as you walk. Research has shown that rapeseeds absorb radioactive substances from soil such as Strontium-90 and Caesium-137 and decontaminate the affected land. Last year, 9.0 earthquake and tsunami had led to Fukushima nuclear disaster; thousands of people lost their lives and millions were at risk. Although a year has passed, their lives remain to be threatened by the painful disaster. Words cannot express how saddened I am, please accept my most heartfelt sympathies for your loss and may god bless you and your family always.

No idea on how the shoes work? Watch the Youtube video below:
Healing Fukushima (Nanohana Heels) is apparently functional but it is not practical. The hope for this project is to go viral and spread rapidly via any means to become a catalyst for discussion on the reconstruction of Fukushima. For more details please go to Sputniko! website. New video will be released in summer this year. I’m looking forward for it, will you?
